Tracy A.'s Story
Life
Finally moved to a warmer, sunnier climate. Yay! I am retired! I am a summer person and pretty much lived on the water (in boats on Lake Ontario) for 25 summers of my life before my divorce. I miss crossing the lake to go to the Thousand Islands, Toronto, etc. and vacationing in our "floating cottage" with my ex and my three beautiful daughters. I even took 11 of those summers off from work to spend the time with my girls and enjoy their growing up. My youngest and I hang out in our backyard pool now instead of on the boat. But it's a great yard, and we enjoy it. The summers are just too short in Rochester.
I worked at Xerox Corp. for over 30 years, and lastly as an Administrative Operations Manager at Xerox Capital Services, LLC, which is a joint venture formed in May of 2002 between Xerox Corporation and General Electric (GE) Capital. interesting - not to mention the HR aspect, which was always fun. Yeah, right.
My latest and greatest news is that my first granddaughter, Presley James, was born August 26th 2008 - and then my second granddaughter, Tora Maria, was born 5 weeks later on October 1st. Presley is in NC (where I've moved to), and Tora is in D.C.
When I was in the 5th grade, my ever-favorite teacher (Mrs. Smith at 49 School) wrote a list of words on the board and told the students to each pick two as traits they would want to possess as individuals. I chose patience and perseverance. To this day I continue in my quest to preserve those two characteristics for myself. As for my general attitude, I absolutely love being my "own" person and having no one to answer to but myself! My significant other and I have known each other since nursery school. So we have a history and share the same values. Life is good. :-)
Update: Moved to NC in March of 2010, closer to my two oldest daughters and two granddaughters. And then, in January of 2011 my youngest daughter gave birth to my first grandson, Spencer, in Rochester. Wish I could be in several places at once!
